Calvin A. Frye
Calvin A. Frye, 60, is Mrs. Eddy’s right-hand man who serves as her personal assistant, secretary, bookkeeper, coachman, aide, steward, spokesman, confidant, and metaphysical physician. He has been at her side for 25 years without a day’s vacation ever since her husband’s untimely death. A widower himself, Frye is a plain, plump, fastidious and fussy man who constantly disappoints Eddy with his limitations and lack of grace but who is unquestionably loyal.

1. ROBERT DUVALL
2. SAM ELLIOT
3. ED HARRIS
Perhaps Robert Duvall here or another fine character actor who is good at pacing the floors. He must be a good physical actor because I would think he won’t have a lot of lines. A good listener. He must be able to create mood without saying a word.
Someone like a Richard Farnsworth. Maybe Tracy Walter.
Robert Duvall. Can’t imagine anyone better.
Hmmmmm, I like Craig T. Nelson. He usually plays an intense character but I think he has a multi-dimensional acting ability.
Robert Duvall
Judging by image: Robert Duvall, but I could see Donald Sutherland playing this part too.
Robert Duvall
Richard Riehle
Sam Waterston?
I think a collection of good and unexpected actors would make this movie great to watch.

Donald Sutherland would portray a great Calvin A. Frye

Although not the exact image, I think a good choice would be robin williams. He would understand very clearly the role as well as the material.
