Alfred Farlow
Alfred Farlow, 48, is a handsome, well-mannered man who heads up the Church’s public relations work in Boston. He is well-known and generally well-liked by the newspapermen who haunt Eddy’s front gate. Farlow’s earnestness and tact enable him to successfully manage the constant rumors that swirl in the media regarding Eddy’s life, health, and metaphysical writings.

Billy Crudup, Matthew Broderick, or maybe Ethan Hawke.
I think Mr. Farlow looks like a young Kevin Costner. Ethan Hawke is also a good choice.
Ethan Hawke sounds good… I think Cary Elwes would also be a good choice.
How about Paul Rudd for this one.
Dennis Quaid
Or! — Denzel Washington, Chris Noth, Darren Burrows
Bill Pullman
Michael C. Hall
Val Kilmer
Ben Stiller or Ethan Hawke
I suggest Doug Wood who is an author and actor and lives in Dallas, Tx, he could be reached at his publishing house address: 16200 North Dallas Pkwy, Ste 170, Dallas, Tx 75248 and is a retired comptroller for the airlines. A very good C.S.t and could bring alot to the role.
Barry Pepper. A dark horse, I know, especially with so many other good actors mentioned, but he really is incredible. Don’t believe me? Watch “The Snow Walker”.
Also consider Guy Pearce.
A perfect role for Christian Slater.
Christian Slater or Cary Elwes
William Porter Carter!!!!!!!!
Kurt Russell
Christian Slater
Matthew Broderick
Cary Elwes
Are you trying to find actors who are Christian Scientists? Have you thought about visiting Principia College Drama Department, where Robert Duvall got his start? You might also consider asking CS orgs and Asher House, Adventure Unlimited and Discovery Bound if they have any actors in their groups.
Greg Kinnear. I know he tends to be associated with silly roles, but if you’ve ever seen him in his more serious roles, there is a real depth to him. I like the idea of Barry Pepper, too, but I think he might be a bit too severe for this role. Look at Farlow’s eyes in this picture. There’s a subtle merriment there that I have a hard time envisioning in Pepper.
I like the idea of Cary Elwes for this role.
Robert Downey, Jr., Harry Connick, Jr.
Josh Brolin.
Harry Hamlin
The description of this man says: handsome, well-mannered, well-liked, gentle . .. perfect actor for this role could only be Keanu Reeves. He is a very spiritual person and represents all those qualities.
Hugh Jackman
Campbell Scott….who I think is a very underrated actor and a very elegant presence. He also has CS in his background as his grandmother was a practitioner and Colleen Dewhurst his mother embraced it again near the end of her life.
Matt Damon
Brendan Fehr
Based on similarities in appearance as well as sheer acting ability, Bill Paxton.
Keanu Reaves.
Dale Minkiff
Christian Slater – by the way, this is fun – thanks
Ewan McGregor
Ben Stiller, if he can play it serious. Very close look-a-like though.
I think Bill Paxton would be perfect. Christian Slater would be a close second.
Tom Cruise. It would be great to see val and tom work together again.
Timothy Olyphant of course
Gerard Butler
I would do the part, Iam from Boston, so I have the natural Boston accent and also work in public relations
Tom Cruise
Colin Firth
Timothy Olyphant is an excellent suggestion.
Josh Brolin?
Skeet Ulrich
Harry Hamlin, Bill Paxton, Christian Slater, Joaquin Pheonix on the young side
Eric Thal (A Stranger Among Us, Six Degrees of Separation, Snow Falling on Cedars)
Lukas Haas would be perfect. If not him then a close second is William McNamara.
